Chapter 92

The Regulations for the Community (Part 2)

Marriage and partnership,
a union according to the law of selfless love and fidelity
- Marriage in the community, a covenant with God (1-3). Parents bear the responsibility for their children before God - The Father-Mother-House - Children not considered as one's own - About the spiritual dual-pairs and the emergence of "spiritual children” (4). About the supper at the Lord's table in the community - Weekly review - No ceremonies (5). Outer forms and ceremonies are concessions and not principles of the law (6-7)

1. And another asked Him, "Master, is it Your will that there be marriages among us as it is among the peoples of the earth?” And Jesus answered, saying, "Among some, it is the custom that one woman may marry several men who say to her, 'Be our wife and take away our disgrace'. Among others, it is the custom that one man may marry several women who say to him, 'Be our husband and take away our disgrace'. For those who love feel that it is a fault not to be loved.

2. But I want to show you, My disciples, a better and more perfect way: A marriage should be between one man and one woman united in full freedom by perfect love and affection, and that as long as love and life last. But let them see to it that they have perfect health and that they truly love each other in all purity and not for worldly advantage only. And then let them vow their fidelity to one another before witnesses.

3. Then, when the time has come, let the angel or the elder offer prayer and thanksgiving and tie them with the scarlet cord, if you want, and crown them and lead them three times round the altar and let them eat of one bread and drink of one cup. Then, holding their hands together, let him say: Be two in one, blessed be the holy union. You whom God has joined together, let no man put asunder, so long as life and love do last. (Chap. 92:1-3)

I, Christ, explain, correct
and deepen the word:

It is not in accordance with the eternal law that a man has several wives and a woman several husbands.

It shall be on earth as in heaven: The man chooses a wife, and when the chosen woman consents to the union with the man, both shall ask themselves what connects them.

In heaven, two beings, the spiritual man - called the positive - and the spiritual woman - called the negative - unite through similar predispositions of mentality. This means that they resemble each other in their character traits. They complement each other in their work together because their abilities harmonize. For the law of God says, "Like unites with like”. This also refers to mentality. Love for God and all Being is the bond that unites all pure beings eternally. Therefore, when two beings resemble each other in some basic powers of life, for instance in the basic power of patience and of order, they can then enter into a dual union. The oneness in the love of God unites all beings with one another as brothers and sisters.

The unifying love is the expression of the polarity that unites two beings that are in tune with each other through their mentality. Like attracts like. That is the eternal law of attraction. From this ensues the dual union.

For My community on earth, still more holds true:

When a woman or a man is lonely and not loved, she or he has violated the law of love.

This means that the lonely person who is not loved is himself not able to love. Consequently, he also radiates little love and can thus attract few people who love selflessly. Either he remains alone or attracts in turn people with a similar vibration, who are likewise hardly capable of loving. Such people are then bound to one another by worldly desires, ideas and their orientation to the physical.

But if two human beings, man and woman, are devoted to one another in selfless love and affection and in deep trust, then they will meet freely, without one forcing the other to fulfil his wishes. Such marriages and partnerships will last as long as the earthly life lasts and, in the spirit, the partners will be brother and sister in heaven as on earth.

When two human beings enter into a union, they should be enlightened about the law of selfless law and fidelity, by the angel - by the person who has become My word - and an elder. If there is not yet an angel in the community, a person who has become My word, then some elders should assume the task.

When two people unite in marriage* in the name of the Father-Mother-God - it can also be a partnership** - they enter into a covenant with God. The union should take place among witnesses within the community.

Then the community commits itself to act as Godparents, so to speak, to the couple. It sees to it that the vow before God to keep to each other in selfless love is adhered to.

If one of the partners leaves the other, because there is no agreement in their thinking and living anymore and the gap can no longer be bridged, and if they agree to keep the brother-sister bond, then both of them can enter into another marriage or partnership, as long as they were both in their first marriage or partnership. A third marriage or partnership cannot be approved. The one who nevertheless undertakes this should leave the community. This rule does not hold true in the case of death of one of the partners.*

The union of a couple in accordance with the laws of selfless love needs no ceremonies. The angel, who has become My word, the elders and the community pray to the eternal Father in heaven and thank Him for the love that He has placed in these two persons who love each other selflessly. They also pray for strength, so that the man can beget children out of selfless love for the woman, and that the woman can give birth to children out of selfless love for the man. Afterwards, the community prays that they may become members of the community life and participate in the great family of God.

The person who wants to make use of the earthly laws as a criterion for marriage is not restrained from doing so. But may his word which he gave to God be his main criterion.

However, the one who enters into a marriage or a partnership for the sake of worldly benefits should not do it before God, but before those who approve of such things. The couple, however, should not lead their private life within the community, but outside the community, so that the community does not take offence to this and the couple does not become a disturbance.

The one who enters into a marriage in order to gain advantage from it is not rejected. The community supports both partners in prayer, asking the Eternal to guide everything in such a way that they gradually learn to love each other selflessly and become a solid link in the chain of the great family.

4. "And when they beget children, let them do so with prudence and reason, according to their ability to support them. Nevertheless, to those who want to be perfect and to whom it is given, I say: Let them be like the angels of God in heaven, who neither marry nor are married, nor have children, nor care for tomorrow, but are free from all ties, as I Am, and keep and store up the power of God within for their service and for works of healing, as I have done. But the many cannot grasp these words, only those to whom it is given.” (Chap. 92:4)

I, Christ, explain, correct
and deepen the word:

The one who begets children should bear the responsibility for them before God that they become God-filled people, who keep My laws and be a great support and strength to the community.

Many who begot and gave birth to children awaken to the service for their neighbour and consider this as their task. They should not neglect their children, but should entrust them to a Father-Mother-House where they are brought up in the right way, according to the laws of selfless love.

However, the parents will remain linked with their children and will not leave them. The one who is in selfless service keeps the commandments of selfless love.

The parents will have the children at home with them as often as it is possible for them. They will support the Father-Mother-House and let positive energies flow into it, so that all children feel well in the Father-Mother-House and have their home there, too.

God cares for the souls and human beings who fulfil His will. The one who entrusts himself and his children to God and is active in selfless service for his neighbour is not bound to people and will neither bind himself to his child nor consider it to be his own. He will raise it according to the law of eternal love and will be a good advisor, helper and friend to the child.

But the one who makes of his children his property has to worry about tomorrow, because he relies solely on his human powers. He considers everything he owns to be his property, including the wife or husband and the children and, by his self-will, is bound to his property, to the wife or husband and the children.

A person who is bound cannot freely and selflessly live and work like the angels of God. He is married to matter, to the body of the wife or to that of the husband, and his children should fulfil his will. Thus, they are enslaved and bound to him. He keeps them as his property.

People whose home is this world - whose thoughts are oriented solely towards human institutions, possessions and earthly pleasures and to people who also think and live like them - cannot understand the meaning of the following statement of "The Gospel of Jesus”:

"Let them be like the angels of God in heaven, who neither marry nor are married, nor have children, nor care for tomorrow, but are free from all ties, as I Am, and keep and store up the power of God within for their service and for works of healing, as I have done.”

Only the one who has attained inner freedom, who actualizes the laws of infinity more and more, understands My word; heaven opens to him not only in the word, but also in the deeds. Those through whom I Am active on earth understand My following words which I speak from the heavens:

The angels in heaven, the heavenly beings, do not marry in the way human beings do. They find one another through the eternal law of love that brings them together. They do not woo and are not wooed. They do not beget as man does. They are not sexual, but are two beings of polarity in the Spirit of the Father-Mother-God: the spiritual woman - the negative principle - and the spiritual man - the positive principle - two beings in the uniting powers of the polarities, positive and negative.*

For My human children's better understanding, again and again I name the spiritual positive principle "man” and the spiritual negative principle "woman”.

From the radiating love of the female and male principles, of the dual-pair, from the spiritual man and the spiritual woman, spiritual principles come forth again - for better understanding called "spiritual children”. The duals, the spiritual man and the spiritual woman, dedicate the child to the Father-Mother-God; for God, the Father-Mother-Principle, has caused the spiritual body to come forth, out of one of His rays of love.

The dual-pair gave the power of their dual-love to the mature substance of the spirit body which was bestowed upon them by God, and raised it to filiation. For My earthly children's better understanding: The dual-pair raised a mature nature being to the filiation in God.

The dual-pair is the bearing and sustaining life for the spiritually exalted being, for the spiritual child, which is positive or negative - in human words: a boy or a girl. The dual-pair, which has raised a nature being to the filiation through and for the Father-Mother-God, is the spiritual parents. Through the spiritual parents, the Father-Mother-Spirit transfers the filiation characteristics to the nature being.

5. And another asked Him, "Master, in what manner shall we present the holy offering?” And Jesus answered, saying, "The offering which God loves in secret is a pure heart. But for a memorial and worship, offer unleavened bread, mingled wine, oil and incense. When you come together in one place to give the holy offering, the lamps being lighted, let the one who makes the offering, the angel of the community or the elder, have clean hands and a pure heart and take from the offered gifts, unleavened bread and mingled wine and the incense. (Chap. 92:5)

I, Christ, explain, correct
and deepen the word:

In My community, there is no need for ceremonies. I conceded this to the Jews, because they did not yet know the direct path to the heart of God, as you do in this time [1989], nor did they bear redemption in themselves.

However, My community shall come together once a week; it shall be on a Saturday evening. My own meet clad in clean - if possible, festive - clothes, in order to partake of the meal at a table that has been laid and has burning candles in honour of the One who nourishes them and keeps them healthy. The one who partakes of the food in My name, in the spirit of truth, has Me as his guest.

Before the meal, one or two of the elders lead the review of the week. Everything that is essential, the "for and against”, should be openly expressed.

The elders who lead the community ask the community the question: What was mainly positive and constructive in the last week and why? And who and what has contributed to that?

The community reports on the "for”. The elders who lead the community will then enter the corresponding remarks into the community book. Also the noteworthy deeds of the community members for the Spirit of Christ, which have contributed to the welfare and to the growth of the community, shall be recorded in the community book.

The same takes place with the "against”. Who or what was the cause of the negative aspects in the past week? Notes about this and about those who caused it or participated in it and the reason they had or still have difficulties and problems are also entered into the book of the week, which is one of the community books.

After the meal at the Lord's Table, the appropriate elders should speak with those who may still be burdened with difficulties or problems. And if second or third parties are concerned, they should take part in the talk.*

The burning candles symbolize the Inner Light around which God-filled people gather.

This meal, like all meals, shall be taken silently, in the awareness that the human being receives and takes in the gifts of God.

One among you who is of honest heart, that is, who is filled with love for God, should say the prayer of thanksgiving before and after the meal and commend the community to the Lord, so that the following week will also be under the sign of selfless love and the still burdened brothers and sisters may recognize and acquire the strength to clear up what still needs attention. For the new week will again bring to each one what he needs to clear up.

In My community, each one should serve everyone.

Every week, different community members should take turns in setting the table for the meal, bringing in the food and selflessly serving their neighbour who is sitting at the table. The preparation of the food should also be done in turns, so that each one renders everyone a lesser or greater service.

The community of Christ, My community, should be filled with spiritual life. Therefore, each community member should devote himself to the Father-Mother-God at the beginning of each day by asking the Eternal to grant him the strength to become pure in heart; for those who are pure in heart will behold God and possess the earth. Everyone should take the sense of the following words with him into the day: The offering that God loves is the pure heart of His children.

The offering does not mean "a sacrifice”, but a heartfelt desire to joyfully devote oneself to the One who loves him and to be together with those who love Him.

I repeat: Ceremonies were not needed in the past, nor are they needed in the present and in the future. The words that you read in the book "The Gospel of Jesus” are symbols for the life in the Spirit, symbols for the meal and the dining of those who have received God in their hearts.

The one who drinks consciously receives the essence of life, and the one who dines consciously receives the bread of the heavens. Therefore, do all things from the heart; thus you do it consciously and need no further consecrations or ceremonies.

The one who does everything consciously, aligned with Me, Christ, does it in My memory.

6. And let him give thanks for all things and bless them and call upon the Father in heaven that He may send His Holy Spirit, so that it may come upon them and make them to be the body and the blood, the substance and the life of the Eternal, which is eternally being broken and shed for all.

7. And let him lift them up to heaven and pray for all, for those who have gone before, for those who are still alive, and for those who are yet to come. As I have taught you, so you pray, too, and let him break the bread and put a morsel in the cup and then bless the holy union, and then let him give it to the faithful, speaking in this manner: This is the body of Christ, the substance of God. This is the blood of Christ, the life of God, eternally being broken and shed for you and for all unto eternal life. And as you have seen Me doing, do likewise in the spirit of love, for the words which I speak to you are spirit and life. (Chap. 92:6-7)

I, Christ, explain, correct
and deepen the word:

These statements are concessions as well, but not principles of the law. People of that time were looking for something to hold on to and needed the outer rituals. I agreed to their wishes according to their mentality. However, the inner temple opens to the one who seeks and finds the Spirit of life within himself. He will devote his life to God in reverence and thus all that he accomplishes.
